The Expedition

The Endurance Expedition was led by Sir Ernest Shackleton, a renowned polar explorer. The expedition set sail from England in August 1914, with a crew of 28 men. The ship, the Endurance, was a three-masted barquentine that had been specially strengthened for polar conditions.
